We take your privacy seriously, and we've built the app so that you can see and control what it knows about you. This article explains what we remember, what we do with it, and how you stay in charge of all of it.
What we remember, and why
In the Collaborator tier, the app can remember useful context about you and your work — things like the sector you work in, the kinds of projects you run, or what you're trying to achieve. Holding onto this means you don't have to re-explain yourself every time, and what the app produces fits your situation better.
Memory is off until you turn it on. When you mention something about your work that would be useful to remember, the app may ask whether you'd like it to start keeping track — something like "it sounds like you're telling me about your work. Would you like me to remember this so I can be more helpful next time?" You can enable it then, or leave it off. You can turn it on or off whenever you like.
Seeing what we remember
Everything the app remembers is laid out for you to see — not buried, not hidden. It's presented as a clear list, grouped and labelled so you can tell what each thing is.
For each item you can:
- Edit it — if it's close but not quite right.
- Flag it as wrong — which switches it off, so the app stops using it.
- Delete it — remove it entirely.
To manage what memories this human has about you and your chats, go to Settings > Memories to review, edit, enable/disable and delete what’s stored.
Turning memory off
You can switch memory off altogether at any time. When you do, we'll ask what you'd like to happen to what's already there:
- Keep it — we simply stop adding to it. Nothing new is remembered, and what's there is paused, ready if you turn memory back on.
- Delete it — we remove what we've stored.
The choice is yours, and neither option locks you in.
To turn off what memories this human stores about you and your chats, go to Settings > Memories to enable/disable and delete what’s stored.
Helping us improve responses
Separately from memory, the app collects a small amount of anonymised feedback to help us keep the quality high.
If a response is good or bad, you can give it a thumbs up or thumbs down, and you can add a short note — for example, if a page reference looked wrong or an answer missed the point. That feedback comes back to us so we can find and fix problems.
This feedback is anonymised. It isn't linked to your account and can't be traced back to you. We use it only to improve the app — we don't share it, and it doesn't go anywhere else. Because it carries no personal information, it's part of how the app works rather than something you switch on or off.
Your data, your rights
You can view, correct, and delete what the app remembers about you at any time. If you'd like to remove your information entirely, you can do that too.
We do not share or sell anything about you or your chats. That’s not our business.
When you use this human chat, your input is sent to our servers, cross referenced with the book content, and then processed using Anthropic's Claude API. Anthropic does not use API data to train its models, and automatically deletes inputs and outputs from its systems within 30 days. Content flagged by Anthropic's automated safety systems may be retained longer.
